Ever since we bought the 4WD Anthony has become obsessed with travelling to Cape York, is there a stronger word than obsessed? If so that’s what he is…..x 10.

We were talking about the trip to our close friends Katreen and Paul, also 4WD enthusiasts and after they showed interest too it was just logical that we all do the trip together.

Paul has done the trip before but there’s always more to see and this time he has much better travelling companions.

We will be doing the trek in a camper trailer that we have hired and Katreen and Paul will be travelling in a little more style than us by enjoying the comfort of their off road Nova Terra Sportz caravan (I may also be enjoying the comfort of a toilet and shower in their caravan too when things get a little bit too remote)

So, Anthony, Ethan, Harper and I will be driving up to Cairns where we will be met by Katreen, Paul and Brooke. Ben will also meet us in Cairns as he will be flying up with Treen and Paul. Why are they flying up when they have the fancy caravan? – well, Pauls parents will be driving the van to Cairns for them as they can’t take the four weeks leave that we have been lucky enough to take.

We will have a few days in Cairns and then travel up to the tip and explore the area for two weeks after which time we will return to Cairns to meet up with Ant’s parents. They will be flying home with Ben while the rest of us embark on the drive home.

The plan is for all of us to contribute to the writing of this blog, I know we can rely on Anthony to add his comments, as for E and Ben….we’ll see.

A month round trip for us, one that we’re all looking forward to….it’s a long time in the car together, especially with a 10 mth old,  so I’ll let you know how that all goes….
